Most of the patients return on Saturday from the government hospitals with hopeless desire because of the doctor’s strike, there was no one to attend them in the Out-Door Patient Department (OPD). The doctors were on strike to press for their demand of service structure.
Most of the patients who came to the hospitals from far flung areas of the province faced problems when they came to know that the doctors were on strike and there was no one in OPD to attend them. Majority of the patients went there for checkup were poor and could not afford medical treatement at private hospitals and clinics. People have demanded of the govt to make solution of the doctor’s strike.
Young Doctor Association (YDA) observe boycot on Saturday from all major hospitals of the province including Lady Reading Hospital, Hayatabad Medical Complex, Khyber Teaching Hospital, Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad. According to the YDA they were demanding the government for the last twenty seven days for the right of their Service Structure but the government was not serious to solve their problems.
In this regard a meeting was held on Saturday at LRH in which YDA President KP Dr. Farooq said that the government was not serious to solve the genuine problems of the young doctors and was using different tactics for depriving them from their rights. He also said that Young Doctors from Punjab were also with them and if the governments not ready to give them their rights they will extend their strike from all over the country and then all responsibility will be on the governments for creating such like situation.
