Jamaat-e-Islami Fata Chapter Amir and candidate for Na-45 Zarnoor Afridi has demanded separate university for Fata students besides asking the government to upgrade all the degree colleges in Fata to post graduate level.
Addressing a talent award show organized under the aegis of Khyber Students Association (KSA) Zarnoor Afridi said Fata students were talented and competent because but they should be provided with best educational facilities.
He pointed out the educational issues confronted by the tribal students in their respective areas and said the ongoing war on terror had deprived millions of students from getting education. The government should take revolutionary steps in the field of education for the bright future of Fata students, Zarnoor suggested.
Afridi while terming the Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) a black law said the said law was an impediment in way of development of Fata. The tribal belt would not lead towards the development till the presence of FCR and all the people had been fed up by it, JI leader added. He said that around 40000 tribesmen had been killed so far in war against terrorism and millions migrated to other parts of the country. He opined that through education, the revolution and development would occur in the area.
He demanded that the government should announce further scholarships and they should be given admission on merit basis an entire colleges and universities across the country for the tribal students. On the occasion, the president of KSA Hidayat Afridi, Fawad Afridi, Tayyab Shinwari, Abdul Hakim Shinwari and Nasir Shinwari addressed the participants.
