The fifty ninth annual prize distribution ceremony of University Model School was held in the UMS auditorium. The outstanding students of the year 2013-14 were awarded in the colorful function on the day, by the chief guest of event, and Vice Chancellor UoP Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan.
The student presented skits highlighting the importance of national cohesiveness to overcome the country`s problems in the ceremony. They also displayed a colorful dress/cultural show highlighting the true cultural colors of the four provinces and northern areas.
A one day science and arts exhibition was also arranged on the day which was visited by the students of schools on campus. Addressing the 59th anniversary function the Vice Chancellor applauded the services of University Model School in imparting quality education among the girls’ students. He added that modern technology like use of multi- media should be introduced in the classrooms and teaching be made more interactive. He directed the school administration to take all out steps to bring more academic laurels to the institution and extend his full cooperation in letting them achieve the same. The parents and teachers should be mindful of the fact that modern technological tools like mobiles and computers are used effectively by the students and their misuse should not be allowed at any cost, added Dr. Jan. Earlier the Principal of the school Javeda Khalid presented annual report, highlighting the academic and infrastructure achievements of the institution. The ceremony was organized by Ms. Asma Bano, Dr Shahida Akhtar and Mrs. Robeena Sami and was attended by good number of students, their parents and officials of the University.
