The University of Agriculture Peshawar (UAP), and Initiative for Development and Empowerment Axis (IDEA’s), a non-profit organization signed an agreement to impart students of the varsity about business and marketing skills in various fields, besides development strong linkages between industries and academia.
Muhammad Ammad, Executive Director of IDEA and Prof Dr Zahoor Ahmad Swati, formally signed on documents of Memorandum of Standing (MoU) in a ceremony held here at the University of Agriculture Peshawar here on Friday, which will be remained intact for one year. During the agreement signing ceremony, the IDEA Head of Program, Khurshid Khan Khalil, Director Finance UAP Dr Farzand Ali Jan, Director P&D Rizwan Ahmad, Registrar UAP Dr Zulfiqar Ahmad, Deputy Director Institute of Business Managing and Sciences UAP Waqar Khattak, and other officials of Idea organization also present.
Muhammad Ammad, Executive Director IDEA organization while speaking on the occasion said that the main objective of the agreement to develop business and marketing skills of youth, and bright gap between Academic and industries, to compete with the emerging challenges in the various fields in their professional career. He highlighted that it was imperative to strong linkage between industries and academia, to educate the students about the developing marketing and business tools and methods.
The IDEA Executive Director maintained that the agreement was part of an effort to inform young generation about emergent challenges, particularly in business and market side, which can be educated by development of strong linkages between industries and academia, under the Peshawar uplift program, which being initiated by the IDEA for capacity building and development of various sectors.
Prof Dr Zahoor Swati, Vice Chancellor UAP in his address appreciated the step of IDEA organization for building capacity of students of the varsity. He said the objectives of the University and IDEA are very common, and assured the University administration would extend every possible support to make successful the business and skilled training program of IDEA organization.
He stressed the need for provision of maximum facilities and opportunities to youth to compete with the emerging challenges in their practical life.
The UAP vice chancellor maintained the youth are much talented and ability to face any kind of challenges, but there needs to provide them equal leveling playing fields and opportunities to make the different. He also emphasized that the steps should need to be taken to further upgrade the standard of the institutions. We need to give maximum focus on development of the youth and will provide them maximum facilities and opportunities, if we want to get progress in every field, Dr Swati added.
Khurshid Khalil, an official of IDEA organization also spoke on the occasion, explained the objectives of the Peshawar uplift project and agreement between his organization and University of Agriculture Peshawar.
