DG Iranian Cultural Centre Called on Vice Chancellor UoP

Syed Bahaud Din Beladi, the newly appointed Director General Cultural Centre of Islamic Republic of Iran Called on Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan and discussed with him matters of bilateral interest, especially promotion of Persian language in KP and FATA.

The Vice Chancellor welcomed the envoy on assuming his new responsibility. He said that Iranian Consulate and Cultural Centre have played a positive role in establishing bilateral cooperation and exchange programmes among University of Peshawar and varsities of Iran.

Dr. Jan added that Persian is one of the oldest languages, and has been used as a mode of teaching religion. Besides some of the genuine scholars, hailed from Persia and paved the way for modern science and technology. He asserted that one of the best tools for any language to thrive is to become way of communication for economic ties, and the muslim world should take steps in the right direction to explore their untapped natural resources and strengthen its education system to achieve the same.

The progress made by Iran in the field of Science and Technology is really commendable and University of Peshawar is looking forward towards benefitting from expertise of scientists of the borthern country, added the Vice Chancellor.

The Director General said that his government wants to collaborate with UoP in initiating joint projects for promotion of Persian language. He added that a formal approval of University of Peshawar is awaited to materialize things towards a tangible output.
