Due to reckless attitude of health department and heath regulatory authority, a large number of fake doctors are operating their clinics here at Dabgari Garden are and playing with the lives of people.
In a visit to Dabgari Garden Peshawar, this scribe visited the clinic of a nerve specialist Dr Taj Mohammad where his assistance gave his appointment without the presence of the doctor in the country and said, “The doctor will be available when you shift the patient to the clinic tomorrow.”
However, this scribe when came out from the clinic and re-confirmed the doctor’s presence from a nearby medical store, he was told that Dr Taj Mohammad was abroad and an alternate medical practitioner, who is not a specialist, is doing duty on his place and deceiving the people. He also assured that though he is not a real doctor, he is more expert than the specialist. When contacted Dr Hussain Shah, chairman Health Regulatory Authority, confirmed the presence of fake clinics and illegal laboratories and promised that strict action would be taken against those who are deputing their assistants in their clinics.
Besides the fake doctors, numbers of illegal laboratories and medical stores are also working in Dabgari area. A number of medical stores are also working without licence.
