Unknown armed persons kidnapped Senior Registrar Hayatabad Medical Complex Dr Asghar in Mathra area of Peshawar on Tuesday.
Registering an FIR, son of Dr Asghar Huzefa told the police that he and his father closed their clinic and were on way to home on Charghazai Baba Road when armed persons intercepted them and picked up his father and carried him in a Cultus car towards an unknown location. Soon after his kidnapping, police tightened security at all check posts and started investigation.
Expressing concerns over the kidnapping of Dr Asghar, President of Provincial Doctors Association Dr Shahsawar said that they were going to boycott the hospital duty until the safe release of Dr Asghar.  He said that a general body meeting of the doctors has been convened today (Tuesday) and soon strategy would be chalked out to press the government for the safe recovery of Dr Asghar.
KP IGP awards cops
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani awarded on Monday Torghar police jawans on tracing out a terrorism case.
According to details, on June 29 miscreants blasted a police van through explosive device in the limits of Darra Bani Police Station in which two police jawans were martyred and van’s driver got injured. A police team was constituted to trace out the blind case.
The other day the team received information about the presence of the involved terrorists in a house of the area. The team raided the house and arrested the owner of the house Shahid-ul-Haq and recovered a rifle from him. The other accused made their escape good from the scene.
Shahid-ul-Haq in a statement before the court confessed that his brother Noor-ul-Haq and two other accused belonging to district Shangla namely Kifyatullah and Zain-ul-Abideen were involved in the attack on police van The accused were also found involved in attack on police truck.
Addressing the ceremony, the IGP Nasir Khan Durrani appreciated the performance of the awardees by successfully tracing out this blind case and directed them to tighten noose around the neck of fled away terrorists and bring them to justice at the earliest. The IGP informed that all requirements of the Torgar police would be met on priority basis to make the district a citadel of peace.
The IGP awarded Inspector Shah Muhammad and SHO Judba Sub Inspector Muhammad Saeed Tanoli with cash prizes and commendation certificates.  PSO to IGP Sohaib Ashraf was also present.
