Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT), University of Peshawar, accused canteen owners inside the varsity of looting the students by illegally increasing the prices of food items. In a press release, Campus Nazim Atiq ur Rahman blamed the university administration of receiving commission from the canteen owners during allotment of canteens, adding that the administration was not taking any action against contractors despite the repetitive complaints of students.
He explained that the prices of foods had increased which resulted in clashes between students and canteen staff. Atiq urged the university administration to release price lists to canteens and ensure its enforcement.
He demanded that Governor Masoud Kausar should take serious action against the unjust attitude of canteen owners otherwise they would start protests against them.
