Islamia Collegiate School holds tree plantation ceremony

Islamia Collegiate School on Sunday held a impressive ceremony of the eve of Tree Plantation Campaign to disseminate information regarding the importance of forest and greenery in the society.

Principal of the school Shabir Ahmad was the chief guest while large number of students and teachers attended the ceremony.

The school principal urged the masses to participate in the national cause of making the country green by planting saplings. He said it was a national duty to protect the existing forestry wealth and also grow more trees to ensure healthier environment and ecological balance.

He said deforestation is the main reason behind climate change which leads to water and food scarcity related issues. He said all stakeholders including farmers, foresters, local communities, private sector, students and people should actively participate in increasing existing forests land.
