The newly appointed principal of Khyber Medical College, Dr Ejaz Khattak while spelling out his priorities expressed the resolve of further enhancing academic standard of KMC besides taking faculty and students in confidence in decision making process.
In an interview with APP, Ejaz Khattak said he will take the faculty and students on board in taking any important decision regarding improvement of the college in administration and academic levels. “The decision making authority would be de-centralized and all the stakeholders would be taken into confidence”, he reiterated. Referring to upgrading academic standard, Dr Ejaz said focus would be given on introducing Ph.D programmes beside launching M.Phil courses in basic sciences.
He said a strategy would be devised to ensure free access of medical students to international medical publications and contemporary journals of modern research conducted on Health Sciences. Presently access to latest journals is very expensive and difficult for students so he would prepare a plan to make it free or at least affordable.
