Jointly organized by University of Peshawar and Korea Pakistan Centre, the KOPAK festival, enthralled the audience students with the great similarity being found in the culture and daily life of people of both the countries. The festival was organized in compliance of a series of Memorandum of Understandings signed in the recent past between University of Peshawar and various Korean Universities for mutual students, teachers exchange programs and cultural collaboration.
Songs, Skits and Marshal Arts display were the highlights of the day in which the students of UoP and Korean Universities conveyed a message of peace, love coupled with a theme of peaceful co existence among the regional asian countries.
Lie, quest for committing sins, and injustice have led to the downfall of countries, underlined one of the performance. It showed that countries cannot think of substantial progress unless these evils are dealt with on emergency basis.
A prize distribution ceremony of the various sports festivals arranged last week among the students was also held at the end. Students of Jinnah College for Women Arija, Taeba Kausar and Ramsha Riaz Khan stood victorious in the various categories of sports.
Dr. Yoon Jong Yoo, the Dean of Pyeongtaek University South Korea distributed prizes among the winner. He also conferred certificates to Pakistani students for successfully completing the ten weeks Korean Language Course at University of Peshawar.
Addressing the gathering Dr. Yoon said, the exchange programs and joint cultural events would enhance the spirit of citizen diplomacy in the students of both the countries. This would also help in removing the negative perception persisting about Pakistan and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in the world.
Officers of the University, students and families attended the one day festival.
