Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy is all set to launch its own FM radio channel named ‘Meezan’ with prime objective to create awareness among common people about fundamental rights, violence against women, weaker segments of the society and children rights.
The other foremost responsibility of the FM Meezan channel would be to air extensive programs for reformation of the prisoners to enable them to become useful citizens, besides providing remedial, legal and judicial forum for redressal of grievances of the litigants.
In an interview with APP here, Senior Director Publication and Research KP Judicial Academy and Station Director of the proposed FM Meezan Channel Mr. Aamir Nazir said that the channel would go on air after fulfilling the codal formalities for which all arrangements have been finalized. The studio of the channel was in the process of completion as all necessary equipment has been purchase for it.
This project has been initiated on the directives of Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Mr. Justice Muhammad Khan, who is taking keen interest in the early launching of the FM Meezan radio channel for the benefit of the common man, Aamir Nazir added.
The Meezan channel would initially cover the provincial metropolis while its transmission would be extended to other parts the province with the passage of time. The target and audience will include litigant pubic, judges, lawyers, law students, prosecutors, investigators, women, children, minorities and the rural population.
Aamir Nazir said the channel would serve the purpose of educating the listeners with the views expressed by renowned legal and judicial experts and all those associated with justice services delivery.
