Four hundred laptops were distributed among the students of Khyber Medical University and its constituent colleges and institutes under the Provincial Government Naway Sahar Laptop Scheme Program by the chief guest Health Minister Syed Zahir Ali Shah in Convocation Hall of University of Peshawar on Friday.
Dell laptops having 500 GB hard disk and 2GB ram were distributed among hundred students of Khyber Medical College; 20 were distributed among brilliant students of Khyber Girls Medical College, 30 in Said Sharif Medical College Swat, 10 in Bacha Khan Medical College, 20 among Khyber College of Dentistry, 10 laptops in Pakistan Institute of Community Etymology’s students, 5 among Pakistan Institute Prosthetics & Esthetics’ students, 30 were distributed among students of KMU Institute of Medical Sciences Kohat, 20 among Institute of Physics Medicine, 10 among students of KMU Institute of Nursing, 10 given to students of Ayub Medical College’s Dentistry Section Abbottabad, 20 to Gomal Medical College D.I.Khan’s students, 8 were distributed among Ayub Medical College Abbottabad and 30 laptops were distribute among students of Bannu Medical College.
Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa allocated 3398 laptops to KMU which would be gradually distributed among the other students who had obtained sixty percent marks in their annual examination or seventy percent in their last semester of students studying in semester system.
Addressing as a key speaker on the occasion Health Minister Syed Zahir Ali Shah said that distribution of laptops among the students of medical institutions were aimed to enable students performing their work professionally done with easiness. He added that laptops would motivate students for showing more potential in their respective fields and it would double their performance.
Syed Zahir Ali Shah assured Vice Chancellor KMU Dr Mohammad Hafizullah for the solutions of the problems faced to KMU which were mentioned by VC in his address earlier. Provincial minister appreciated KMU and added that its value added contributions in medical filed in the province would never be forgotten.
Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Dr Rasul Jan, renowned Cardio Scholar Surgeon of United States and visiting faculty of KMU Dr Amjid Hussain Zaidi, Registrar KMU Dr Fazal Mahmood, Director Academics Professor Shad Mohammad and number of professors and students attended the event.
