Provincial Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain Tuesday said that he feels proud of his son’s martyrdom for the soil of the country and he would not have hesitated to sacrifice ten sons if he had them.
He said this while addressing a ceremony held here at Peshawar Press Club to launch his poetic collection. The verses were compiled in the form of a book by Directorate of Culture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with Sangam.
Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that being follower of Bacha khan he believe in the philosophy of non-violence and was ready for dialogue and negotiations with terrorists provided they give up their covert activities. He said that he was punished by terrorists for joining war against them and his beloved son was killed and snatched from him for ever.
Information Minister, Mian Ifitkhar Hussain, who is also parliamentary leader of ANP, said that nation should be proud of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for maintaining peace in the country.
He said that he did not cry on the martyrdom of his son but the brutal killing of Shaheed Bashir Bilour made him cry.
I will forgive the assassination of my son for the sake of peace, he said, adding that All Parties Conference (APC) would soon be convened to chalk out strategy for restoring peace in the country.
He said that Tahir Ul Qadri was a controversial character with contradictions in his statements.
Mian Iftikhar said that democracy was the right of every citizen and the long march should remain peaceful and should not create any chaos and law & order situation in the country.
