Provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif inaugurated on Monday an orientation session for parliamentarians to sensitise them on their vision for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).

The purpose was to highlight how the goals of Save the Children’s ECCE programme are in line with that of the Education Department, says a press release.

Muhammad Atif expressed the department’s commitment towards ECCE and said all new government schools would have an ECCE classroom. He added that there would be a budgetary allocation for ECCE in the coming years.

The event participants discussed the achievements, challenges and lessons learnt by Save the Children in the implementation of the project in four districts of the province across 401 schools.
