PM’s scheme to usher socio-economic uplift

Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan is a revolutionary step forward toward socio-economic uplift and would put the country on the track progress and development. This was stated by Project Manager, Women Business Development Centre (WBDC) Peshawar, Nabeela Farman while talking to APP here on Thursday. She said that the beneficiaries of the scheme would not only become self-employed themselves, but would also generate employment opportunities for thousands of other unemployed persons. She said that PM has announced tremendous scheme for youth, which would benefit millions of people. She said that 50 per cent quota in the scheme had been sanctioned for women that would go long way in the socio-economic betterment of the women.

Project Manager, WBDC, Peshawar said that the special counter established by the centre for the facilitation of the women seeking benefit from the scheme is receiving tremendous response and dozens of women are either visiting the centre personally or contacting them on phone for guidance regarding the scheme. She said that the centre is providing the feasibility reports prepared by Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) to the interested women entrepreneurs and also distributing application forms amongst them. To a question, she said majority of women are taking interest in joining traditional sectors of women businesses. However, some of them had also been found fond of joining non-traditional sectors. She said that Women Business Development Centre besides facilitating them in the preparation of business plans is also providing business related guidance to them.
