Provincial president of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Dr Hussain Ahmad Haroon has hailed Prof Dr Ejaz Hassan Khan’s appointment as principal Khyber Medical College and said it reflected the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf–led provincial government’s commitment to uphold merit.

In a statement, he said the PMA appreciated the decision as it showed the government was sincere in making merit-based decisions, particularly in Health Department. The provincial Health Department ordered the posting of Dr Ejaz Hassan Khan, professor of Pathology (BS-21), Khyber Medical College Peshawar, as the principal on Friday.

Removal of Dr Nurul Iman criticised: Amn Jirga Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chairman Syed Kamal Shah has criticised the removal of Khyber Medical College principal Prof Dr Nurul Iman.

In a statement, he said the interference of the provincial government has affected various departments. He demanded PTI chief Imran Khan and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to take notice of what he called favouritism by the provincial government authorities.
