In a step to provide international exposure to the female students and elevate the standards of their education, the University of Peshawar and Sookmyung Women University South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding at a ceremony held in South Korea. The agreement was signed by Vice Chancellor UoP Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan and President Sookmyung University Ms. Sunhye Hwang. The agreement signed initially for three years would focus on the exchange of students of both the institutions in order to learn best practices in academics and research. The two institutions will also carry joint research projects of mutual interests. Addressing the MoU ceremony the Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar termed the agreement as a mild stone achievement for capacity building of the female folks of UoP.
He added the exchange program will benefit the female students in learning diverse cultures and modern research methodologies. It will also enhance the relationship between South Korea and Pakistan through citizen diplomacy.
Sookmyung University is the first women varsity of Korea established in the year 1906, said President Sunhye Hwang. She added the University was established with the motive of,“ save our nation“ with women education and today Korea is amongst the most developed countries of the world, she added.
