Shabab-i-Milli, Peshawar chapter will hold a youth festival in the provincial capital, next month to provide guidance and training to jobless youth on modern scientific lines and also offer entertainment opportunities to the people of militancy hit province.
Addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, Hafiz Hameedullah, Peshawar district president of Shabab-i-Milli, the youth wing of Jamaat-i-Islami, said the festival would be organised on March 22, 23 at Jinnah Park.
Criticising the PML-N-led Punjab and PPP-led Sindh governments for ‘squandering’ public money on holding festivals in their respective provinces; he said they (Shabab-i-Milli) would bear all the expanses of the festival.
“We will hold a historical festival, in which various events like sports gala, entertainment, food stalls, academic, literary and cultural activities would be held,” he claimed.
He said youth from all over the province would participate in the entertaining-cum-informative festival.
Mr Hameedullah said that 24 different committees had been set up to make the event a success.
He added that events were scheduled keeping in view the interest and curiosity of people belonging to all age groups.
He said 15 different sports competitions would be organised in which players from different parts of the province would participate.
