The provincial government has partnered with a private university to put 350 young entrepreneurs through an impact challenge programme to enhance their skills.
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government had collaborated with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on the Youth Impact Challenge programme to promote youth entrepreneurship, employment, and innovation and to harness the skills, passion and commitment of largely rural youth by involving them in the economic mainstream.
Under the initiative, 350 candidates between the ages of 18 and 30 will be selected to turn them into entrepreneurs.
According to the Youth Affairs Director Asfandiyar Khattak, over a thousand applications from across the province were received last month. Of these, 350 of the best ideas will be shortlisted and finally selected for the launching of their business ideas.
Khattak stated that selected candidates will be provided up to Rs2 million in instalments, keeping in view the nature of their projects.
The selected candidates will then be provided nine days of training at the Institute of Management Sciences in Peshawar followed by the first instalment for initiating their businesses.
